The John T. Petters Foundation is a private foundation working to help advance the educational experience of deserving students by providing college scholarships for study abroad programs.

To support this worthy cause the Foundation will host the Legacy Gala: A Night in Beijing on August 11th, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN. This event included celebrity entertainment by Bill Cosby and The Great Chinese Circus, as well as silent and live auctions.

The Joe Schmit Celebrity Golf Tournament and Online Auction
The Joe Schmit Celebrity Golf Tournament is now in its 16th year fundraising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities. All the proceeds from this auction will go to matching children with a caring, responsible adult mentor. The results of these matches are nothing short of remarkable. Children who have a Big Brother or Sister in their lives are less likely to do drugs, skip school or get in trouble because their self-esteem is so much higher.
About Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to enrich young people’s lives through one-to-one friendships. In 2006, BBBS served more than 3,400 children with the help of caring committed volunteers. Thanks in large part to revenues generated by the Joe Schmit Golf Tournament & events, BBBS is able to match adult volunteers with children in need of a mentor.

To support this worthy cause the Foundation will hosted the Legacy Gala: A Night in Las Vegas on August 12th, 2006. This event included celebrity entertainment by David Spade and The Rat Pack Revue, as well as silent and live auctions.

As a sponsor of the John T. Petters Legacy Gala, uBid.com hosted an online auction July 28th - August 25th. This unique online event featured a variety of celebrity items as well as $100,000 in uBid.com products up for auction.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
Ended 1/21/06 and raised over $12,700!

A total of $12,705 was raised for children with life-threatening medical conditions! Celebrities gave the shirts off their backs - literally - to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Courteney Cox Arquette, Brooke Shields, Katie Couric and others have donated their personal clothing items that were transformed by Morfs Brand Clothing into new children's wear by using the celebrity designer duds as decorative accents. 100% of the outfit proceeds benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida with 10% being re-directed to aid the chapters affected by Hurricane Katrina.

uBid for Hurricane Relief
Ended 11/1/2005 and raised over $414,000!!
uBid For Hurricane Relief raised and donated approximately $414,000 to three charities working to help the victims of recent Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. 100% of the proceeds from the program were split evenly among the three charities, chosen because of their local focus on rebuilding in the areas most devastated by the storms:the
Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation and
The RockWorks Foundation (in association with Ashton Kutcher).

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $900 million to diabetes research, including more than $98 million in FY2005. In FY2005, the Foundation funded 500 centers, grants and fellowships in 19 countries.
