What is uBid Direct auctions' return policy?
UBid's Return Policy and Procedures
In rare cases, you may have the need to return an item to uBid. Below, please find the policies and procedures that allow us to quickly and efficiently process your return.
The general policies and procedures below apply to all returns, unless the product page lists different returns information. In these cases the returns information as listed on the product page would override uBid's general returns policies.
For Example: if the product page specifically states "No Returns or Refunds", then all sales are final.
Return Procedure:
In order to return a product you must be granted a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). To receive an RMA, submit your information to our Customer Care Department, via our web form or by calling 1-866-WIN-UBID (1-866-946-8243). It is important that you include the detailed reason that you are requesting a return. Once your return is authorized, uBid will email you the RMA and instructions. It is important that you follow the instructions for returns or your return may not be processed. RMA numbers cannot be extended or reissued.
NOTE: uBid will be unable to process credit for returns without a prior authorization, so please insure that you follow the procedure that is outlined below. You must contact uBid within 15 days from the invoice date to initiate a return.
- Your returned items must reach us within 30 days from the invoice date. Items received after 30 days will not be accepted for full return. Returned merchandise received after 60 days from the invoice date will not be refunded nor returned.
- Manufacturer's warranty supercedes uBid's return policy on defective merchandise when applicable.
- When we receive your returned item, we will refund your order amount less a minimum 15% restocking fee and the original shipping charges.
- Replacements and merchandise credits are at the sole discretion of uBid.
- The RMA label must be attached to all packages being returned. The purchase invoice must be included with the return. If there are multiple packages, a separate copy of the invoice must be included in all packages being returned.
All items will be inspected and tested by uBid upon receipt. In order to process your return and credit, the items will be inspected for the following:
- All items must be returned in the original condition and packaging. Specifically: packing materials, diskettes, CDs, warranty cards, parts and accessories, promotional items, manuals, and all other documentation provided.
- All software included with your purchase must be returned in the original condition in which it was supplied by the manufacturer, sealed and with hologram intact where applicable.
- In isolated cases where assistance and resolution cannot be reached through the manufacturer, a manufacturer's case number must be provided to enable a return through uBid.
- Copyright items such as DVD's, pre-recorded videos, video games, etc. must be unopened. If defective, you may exchange these items for the same title.
- There are no returns on any travel packages.
- Products must be returned with all standard certification labels intact and legible (UPC code, barcode labels, etc).
- Serial number on returned product must match serial number on record with uBid.
- Products must be returned to uBid in original manufacturer's packaging with a qualified external shipping container to eliminate possibility of shipping damage during the return transport.
- Packages affixed with counterfeit label(s) or affixed with labels exhibiting tampering will not be accepted for return.
- DAMAGE: Cracked components or damage to any circuit boards will not be accepted for return.
- DAMAGE: Loose, damaged or removed screws/fasteners will not be accepted for return.
- CPU's, notebooks and other items so labeled with a security seal will not be accepted for return if the security seal has been broken.
You are responsible for shipping and proof of delivery on all returns; therefore, for your protection, we strongly suggest that you fully insure the package you are returning and use a traceable method of shipping which includes a tracking number so that you can provide proof of delivery if necessary. If you cannot provide proof of delivery for your return, you will not receive credit for that return.
The customer must pay all costs related to return shipping. Original shipping charges will not be reimbursed. After receiving and inspecting the returned merchandise, if your return passes inspection, your return will be processed. Please allow up to 20 days for processing. To ensure your return passes inspection, please follow our returns procedure listed above.
Excessive, incomplete or costly return patterns may result in termination of purchasing privileges.
Damaged During Shipment - Occasionally an item will be damaged during shipment. If you notice any damage to the box or item, note the damage in detail on the receipt and do not accept delivery of the package. It is important that you do not accept or sign for a damaged package. Contact uBid Customer Care immediately at 1-866-WIN-UBID (1-866-946-8243). We will send you a replacement item or credit your account upon receipt of the item at our warehouse.

- Are there any restocking fees?
There is a minimum 15% restocking fee on all returns.
- Why can't I just return my defective product to uBid?
In cases where the product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, uBid has ensured, through our rigorous purchasing process, that the warranty is available to you if there is a problem upon receipt. Due to the nature of our dynamic marketplace, we cannot necessarily replace your product with like kind and in a timely fashion. Please contact the manufacturer of the product, as they are the experts. Provide the necessary information to them so that they can assist you and make sure you are satisfied with their original manufacturer's equipment purchased on uBid. In isolated situations where the manufacturer is unable to resolve your issues, we require a manufacturer's case number to enable our final settlement.
- How long does it take for my account to be credited?
Our warehouse and accounting staff work hard to process returns as quickly as possible. Please allow up to 20 days after we receive the items to process your credit. Returns that are received incomplete or outside the guidelines listed above may increase your processing time or may not be processed.
- How long do I have to return a product?
