Search Tips
Whether you're searching for something in particular or just browsing for great deals on our latest offers, our new Search options can help you find what you are looking for. Simply enter a keyword or series of keywords, a brand name or a product category into the Quick Search box at the top of any page, and we will show you all of the products that match. You may narrow your results by choosing a category from the pulldown menu.
You may also conduct a wildcard search from the Quick Search. Simply enter any word starting with a specific sequence of letters followed by an asterisk symbol (*). For example, if you search for Playsta*, your results will include Playstation, Playstation 2, etc.
Once your quick search results are displayed, the "Narrow Results by" feature in the left side navigation can assist you in finding exactly what you're looking for. The tool can help refine your search by:
Keyword:
With this option you can narrow or refine the search results by searching only within the current search results. For example, if you searched for the keyword "Sony" and 2000 results were returned, you could conduct another search for keyword "playstation" to find only those items. The search will scan only within the current results and narrow them down.
Category:
Similar to the Category functionality from the Quick Search, this option will allow you to select a specific category in which to refine your search if you did not do so in the Quick Search. Additionally, once you have limited your search to a specific Category this feature will present a list of subcategories with relevant results with with to further narrow your search.
Brand:
This option gives you the ability to narrow the set of results by the brands that have results.
Bid Price Range:
This option gives you the ability to look for items only within a given price range. For example, if you searched for the keyword "Sony" and received 2000 results, you chould choose to narrow the results by typing in a price range, $100 to $150. Now the search will return only items whose current bid range falls within that range.
Broaden Results:
This feature will give you the power to search through auction "Features and Benefits" sections for relevant keywords, in addition to the auction titles and subtitles. Searching on this index will yield a lot more results but may take longer to complete.
Recent Searches:
This feature will save your 5 most recent searches so that you may return to them again.
