When does the protection plan coverage start?
uBid's Extended Protection Plan begins after the shortest portion of the manufacturer's warranty ends; i.e., parts and labor.
Am I paying for something I already have?
No! We would not want that to happen. You are paying to keep your product protected after the manufacturer's warranty has expired.
How does uBid's Extended Protection Plan benefit me?
The uBid Protection plan provides a service protection plan beyond manufacturer's warranty. On covered repairs, the Plan offers service that's customized for each product and there are no deductibles! Other benefits of purchasing a service plan are:

Which products are eligible for coverage?
Almost any product which either plugs-in or runs on batteries. Usually people think of Service Plans available only for electronic products. uBid, however, has made the decision to include Home products, Jewelry and Watches, to name a few. Whether you buy an eligible New, Refurbished or Used product we are providing our customers with the option to purchase a uBid Protection Plan at competitive rates.
Who performs the repair service?
The repair service is provided by third party servicers. Trained service technicians selected by the Administrator draw on a $30+ million parts Inventory.
What are my obligations?
The buyer should obtain pre-authorization from the service plan provider before carrying out any activity related to repairs of the product. To obtain Authorization for a repair, contact our Customer Service Representative at 1-866-526-0013 if you purchased your product on or after June 14th, 2004. Before June 14th 2004 please call 1-800-373-0893 for service and begin the product repair process.
Can I obtain coverage after the product has been invoiced?
No. You must choose this option when you are bidding on any piece of merchandise.
What proof of coverage will I receive?
You will receive a copy of the Terms and Conditions in the mail after your purchase. Product summary information will be included as well. The Summary will include the type of product, service for the product and the term of coverage.
Is coverage transferable?
Yes, this Agreement is transferable after manufacturer's warranty expires at no charge. Agreement is transferable by the original purchaser only, for the balance of the original extended warranty period. The products Terms and Conditions that you received with your order will help you understand the process so that the new owner continues to receive great service, too.
Is coverage cancelable?
You may cancel this agreement for any reason at any time. If you cancel within thirty (30) days of the receipt of this Agreement, contact uBid.com at 1-866-526-0013 if you purchased your product on or after June 14th, 2004. Before June 14th 2004 please call 1-800-373-0893 for a full refund. If you cancel after thirty (30) days, you will receive a pro rata refund based on the time expired, less the cost of any claims. Restrictions apply for some states.

To obtain authorization, just call the toll-free number on your Terms and Conditions-- 1-866-526-0013 if you purchased your product on or after June 14th, 2004. Before June 14th 2004 please call 1-800-373-0893 for service. Our Customer Service Representative will confirm your product is covered and then arrange for the appropriate type of service to be performed. What support is provided for pre-loaded software?
uBid Extended Protection Plan does not support damage or repairs to pre-loaded software. However, customer service assistance is provided via phone to attempt to fix the problem. When does the Extended Protection Plan coverage start?
Coverage for watches and jewelry begins on day 31 after you purchase your product and continues for 2 full years from date of purchase. During the manufacturer's warranty period we will refer you to the manufacturer for repair.
Am I paying for something I already have?
No. The Extended Protection Plan extends from the manufacturer's warranty and in some cases, adds more service options and/or more years of protection. In developing service plan pricing, we factored in the manufacturer's warranty, which keeps the pricing lower. In fact, without a manufacturer's warranty factored in, the protection plan would cost much more!
How does the Jewelry Extended Service Plan benefit me?
The plan is designed to give you more and better protection than any other service plan on the market today. It provides no-cost repairs, covering both parts and labor for the full term. Plus, the plan provides convenient service for each product.
What is the turnaround time for depot service?
Usually a total of ten business days after we receive your product. We will ship your repaired product to you.
Can I obtain coverage after the product has been invoiced?
No. You must choose this option when you are bidding on any piece of merchandise.
What proof of coverage will I receive?
You will receive a Welcome Card or E-mail with plan purchase, which will list the terms and conditions. You should keep both the sales invoice and the Welcome Card in a safe place; both will be needed to obtain repairs.
Is coverage renewable?
The Jewelry Extended Service Plan is not renewable.
Is coverage transferable?
Yes, after the manufacturer's warranty expires and at no charge. All you have to do is call our Customer Service number printed on the Welcome Card or E-Mail to arrange the transfer: 1-866-526-0013 if you purchased your product on or after June 14th, 2004. Before June 14th 2004 please call 1-800-373-0893 for service. This no-cost service adds tremendous value to your product, if you ever choose to sell it.
