How do uBid Direct and uBid Certified Merchant products differ? What are uBid Direct products? uBid is committed to providing all customers with the highest quality auction experience available on the web. uBid meets and exceeds Better Business Bureau Online Standards, is an AOL Certified Merchant, and is honored as a Bidder's Edge Trusted Auction Site. uBid Direct products come directly from uBid's own warehouse, manufacturers or distributors. In addition, all products are backed by uBid's return and warranty policies, and Extended Warranties are available on most products. Customers also have easy access to the uBid Customer Care team. What is a uBid Certified Merchant? uBid Certified Merchants are uBid approved third-party merchants who sell products on the site. To ensure uBid buyers the ability to shop in a private and secure environment, every uBid Certified Merchant must go through a thorough application process including verification of bank and trade references before they are approved to list auctions on uBid. uBid Certified Merchants are established businesses (both small and large) whose performances are monitored to ensure that buyers receive the appropriate uBid service levels. These Certified Merchants list their items directly and assume responsibility for all aspects of their auction listings including product descriptions, identification of quantities, establishment of starting and maximum bid prices, and shipping. Although uBid does not own, warehouse, ship or otherwise manage any inventory or goods offered by uBid Certified Merchants, those partners who do not meet uBid's service standards can and will be removed from listing auctions on the site. uBid handles all payment processing for orders from these partners and uBid's Customer Care department provides assistance for all issues to ensure a positive uBid experience.
