UBID, EXCITE AND IWON FORM STRATEGIC MARKETING AGREEMENT

2nd Largest Online Auction Site Named Exclusive Provider of Auctions for The Excite Network

CHICAGO, IL – April 4, 2002 – uBid, a leading retail auction and e-commerce marketplace and majority-owned company of CMGI, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI), and The Excite Network (iWon and Excite), the 8th most trafficked site on the Internet on a daily basis1, today announced an agreement that integrates all of uBid’s item listings and categories into the popular Excite and iWon Auctions destinations.

Under the terms of the agreement, uBid becomes the exclusive provider of online auctions on behalf of Excite and iWon, allowing their millions of users the opportunity to bid on relevant auction listings without leaving the Excite or iWon sites, while actual purchases are transacted through uBid.  The co-branded sites offer bidders a variety of name brand merchandise and product specials.  The agreement comprises content integration, sponsorship and advertising, incorporating uBid's brand and links throughout both the Excite and iWon Web portals.

“Excite and iWon can now provide their audience with an exciting, leading-edge auction technology format featuring brand name merchandise,” said Tim Takesue, acting chief executive officer of uBid.  “As two of the Web’s leading sites, iWon and Excite will help generate traffic and exposure for the millions of items available on uBid.  This agreement, coupled with recently announced relationships with other leading Internet properties, underscores our great product offering as well as our ability to fulfill needs for other businesses to offer competitive, full-service auction capabilities.”

In December 2001, uBid became the premier provider of content and products for the MSN Auctions Channel and expanded its relationship with MSN’s eShop Merchant Program, to include a permanent anchor position in computing, electronics, travel, sports and outdoors, home and garden and collectibles. In addition, uBid announced similar agreements last year with About, Inc., the 5th largest Web Property according to Jupiter Media Metrix and AltaVista.

Visitors can simply click on the Auctions tab on Excite or iWon to gain entry to uBid’s online auction marketplace, where for a $9 starting bid a customer can stake a claim to thousands of brand name products daily, ranging from consumer electronics to travel and events.
